Fireweed Chesapeakes offers a select number of stud dogs. Our stud dogs are all OFA (hip) certified and have CERF (eye) certification. All bitches bred to our stud dogs must also have OFA hip certification and CERF certification. A Brucellosis test is also required prior to breeding. Frozen and fresh semen available.

Freezer is 85 lbs of power and drive in a supremely athletic body. He is an excellent marker, an accomplished blind runner when not in his “desperado” mode. His puppies have proven to be very talented and trainable with Freezer’s athletic abilities and confirmation.
Freezer has proven to be a top caliber producer. He has produced mulitiple conformation champions, hunt test and obedience titled offspring. He has a derby winning daughter, qualified all-age offspring, and several other field trial competitive offspring gearing up to win! Five have completed their bench championships. His star Diamond’s Maximum Surprise “Maxxie” has achieved more in Europeon field trials than any other Chesapeake including winning the 2005 (team) National.

Introducing “Cash” -- a son of Canvasback and Yakity one of our more recent additions to Fireweed Chesapeakes. This young male is a happy-go-lucky, daredevil fella with a wonderful disposition and we hope as bright a future as the intensity and intelligence that burn in his eyes. Cash completed his field trial yard work in fine shape with a great working attitude. He is a lot of dog! Now we’ll see if we can channel all his energy in the right way.
Cash debut in the Derby stakes earning 2 JAMs out of 3 starts. In 2006 Cash became a qualified all-age dog. He continues to show great promise with tremendous speed and desire.

Fireweed’s Boogie Woogie Rumble
|

|
|
Rumble is out of a breeding that is very special to me. Governor is the closest I will ever get to my Widgeon. The combination brings together the two lines down from Widgeon and then takes it back to him. Rumble is what I was looking for -- a very Widgeon-like personality and temperament with all the wonderful descendants too! He is very intelligent, very quick, and an intense retriever. My hopes are high for this boy!
Rumble debuted in field trials at the ACC specialty and earned a Derby JAM. He has decided the sport is right up his alley. His training continues to progress rapidly and he continues to remind me of Widgeon.

Player ran and placed in both puppy stakes at the 2007 ACC Specialty at just over 6 months old.
He is a well proportioned, dark brown animal with lots of speed, drive and talent. He started his serious trial career in July and in September won the Derby (picture on left) and JAM’d the qualifying at the ACC Specialty.
He is out of CH Crackshot’s Ben There Done That by our own CH Genny’s Aim-Me Quick, SH QAA.
He is a pleaser -- fun to run and pleasing to watch. Pleasing to look at too!
